Private tutor in Long Beach, CA

Education

B.S. in Marine Biology, University of California, Santa Cruz. Graduated June 2013

Experience

I first began tutoring in high school to make a little extra money, and found that I loved working with and helping other people. I continued tutoring throughout college where I worked with students ranging from ages 7-16 in various subjects, including SAT preparation, basic reading, writing, chemistry, and history. I currently work at the Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach where I'm lucky enough to be part of their education department, and I get to continue to teach people of all ages about marine biology and conservation. I also have a very strong music background and have been playing the saxophone for 12 years, and love teaching music as well. I played consistently throughout high school and college, have taken multiple theory classes, and played in several ensembles. I'm currently playing sax in a local ska band and would love to teach beginning to intermediate saxophone, as well as beginning guitar. Contact me if you're interested and we can work out availability and meeting times from there!
