Experience

I am a native Spanish speaker. I love my language and culture, and I love teaching them so you can improve and enjoy your skills in this useful language. I have learned English, Italian, and French, which has given me the ability to understand how a language is learned and how it should be explained and taught. I have experience in Language "Meet-ups" when I was living in Paris, France for one semester. I would meet up with people interested in learning Spanish and we would have conversations in Spanish and French in order to teach each other. This was a more recreational way of learning which involved mostly conversation and drawing as the last resource, but at the same time I am great at following textbooks and structure. I need this structure to fully understand the way a certain language works and makes sense. I also have three years of experience working at the Cal State Long Beach Center for International Education. This experience really helped me improve my communication skills when providing services for students from all over the world. I have experience in understanding language barriers and in keeping the flow in conversations even when the person feels he/she cannot express him/herself.
