Education

I am currently pursuing a double major in Mathematics and Economics at Chapman University. I will begin studying as a freshman in the fall of 2018, which I am very excited about. I am lucky to also be apart of the Presidential Scholar's program at Chapman as well. I do not have a college GPA yet, but I graduated high school with a 4.6 GPA.

Experience

Tutored 7 students in the 2017-2018 school year: 1 PreCalculus, 1 AP Calculus AB, 1 Pre-Algebra, and 5 Algebra 1 students. I have taken Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, Precalculus Honors, AP Calculus AB, and AP Calculus BC. I have earned an A in all of those classes. I earned a 1440 out of 1600 on my SAT. I have earned a score of 4 on AP Biology and AP Seminar, and scores of 5 on AP Human Geography, AP World History, AP Calculus AB, and AP English Language and Composition. This year, I took AP Research, AP English Literature and Composition, AP Calculus BC, AP Government, and AP Macroeconomics. I have not yet received those scores. I want to be a tutor because I am passionate about learning, and building students' skills as well as their confidence. I was the founder and president of my high school's Calculus Club, where we provided peer tutoring sessions on a weekly basis.

Hobbies

I have been a dancer since I was six years old, and I was a member of my high school's advanced dance team. We recently competed at Disney World in Florida, and I had the opportunity to perform a solo at my last show, which was an amazing experience. I love math, but I'm also passionate about writing and love to express myself creatively. I was a commissioner of my high school's link crew, where I led the freshman orientation last summer. I'm an optimistic and positive person, and I'm always encouraging students to continue working hard. i believe in a growth mindset when it comes to learning, and that none of us are "smarter" than anyone else. We all have the ability to achieve success with diligence and hard work, and our intelligence is not fixed.
