I am currently in my 4th year at Cal State Long Beach. I am a Liberal Studies major and Spanish minor.
Experience
Experience: 1 year- peer tutoring at the high school level. Extensive experience working one-on-one with elementary students in a classroom setting.- Being a liberal studies major, several of my university classes require that I do 45 hours of field training/ observation per semester in an elementary classroom. Through this, I have worked with and observed many different types of students and learners. Relevant Courses: EDEL 200- Introduction to teaching ( 45 hrs. field training/ observations required.) ENGL 309- Exploring Children's writing (45 hrs. field training/ observation required) MTED 110, 211, 205, 402- Various Elementary Math Education Courses. LING 329- Child Language Acquisition ART 300- Art, Adolescence, and the Child Internship: Arts/ Cultural Education intern for the Arts Learning Department at the Arts Council for Long Beach. While interning at the Arts Council, I spent many hours in elementary classrooms observing art/ dance lessons and working with the students. Club: I am a member of the Association of Future Educators (AFE) at CSULB.
