20 years teaching experience, followed by 13 years tutoring experience. All in the greater Los Angeles area. I have taught English as a Second Language to children for many years, and to adults in Adult Education for several years also. I provided a broad base of ESL for adults in various schools in LAUSD, adapted lessons to fit the needs of the students - requiring ability to go outside the text, created original teaching materials, and hands-on activities. In addition I taught art to my Special Education classes on a daily basis, because this creative development significantly increased student focus and self-esteem, thereby enhancing the learning process.
