EducationUniversity of California-Riverside - BS, Biology
ExperienceI attended the University of California-Riverside, where I earned my B.S. in Biology, with a particular focus on medical sciences. I hope to attend medical school, and have been working diligently both professionally and academically toward that end. While pursuing my undergraduate degree, I studied viruses, neurosciences, Immunology, Genetics, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, among others. I've taught a variety of courses in the sciences, including many of the above mentioned. I specifically love teaching Biochemistry because of its multidisciplinary nature and how it connects with a number of other sciences. While at Riverside, I tutored students in advanced biochem classes. Science is my passion, and being an educator is one way for me to demonstrate that. I believe in building students' academic self-esteem as part of the teaching process, and I believe to do so, it's important to demonstrate compassion with students. I like to work with students to identify and address their challenges. I feel comfortable working with students of many ages, though my experience is focused in higher ed environments. Outside of work and study, I love to read, cook, hang out with my dog, and watch TV shows (mostly in the drama genre).
