Experience
I worked as a teaching assistant for several years in graduate school (where I consistently received above-average instructor evaluations). I also have a considerable amount of research experience, and am published on multiple articles in multiple scientific journals, including a study where we used an autonomous marine robot to track leopard sharks. Since it suggests listing my standardized test scores, I got 1330 on the SAT (700 verbal, 630 math), 1410 on the general GRE (660 verbal, 750 math), and scored in the 84th percentile on the Biology GRE. The whole reason I'm doing this is because I genuinely love teaching. This gives me an opportunity to get paid for something that barely even feels like work to me.

Hobbies
My favorite hobbies include surfing, skiing, cycling, diving, fishing, and music. I actually worked for a few years as a ski and snowboard instructor in between college and graduate school and currently work in a dive shop in Dana Point. Music is a huge part of my life, and I love going to concerts. I also play several musical instruments, though only a couple with any real proficiency.
