ExperienceI'm a tutor based in sunny Los Angeles, where I enjoy writing, hiking, and playing board games when I'm not working with students. I have my bachelor's degree in rhetoric from UC Berkeley, and am currently a third year law student at UCLA. My favorite part about teaching is taking subjects and ideas that are complex and breaking them down into easy to understand, bite-sized pieces of information. As a tutor, I work extremely hard to ensure that each of my students receive a targeted, individualized lesson plan. This allows me to take the needs of the individual student into account, and provide them with a set of lessons and exercises that will give them the best opportunity to improve scholastically quickly. I try to understand how each student learns and base my style of teaching around that. While I'm able to tutor a wide array of subjects, my two favorites are tutoring the LSAT and writing. As a law student, the LSAT is near and dear to my heart, and I've seen firsthand the improvement that taking the time to study can have on a student's score. I love teaching writing because words have incredible power in our society, and it's very rewarding to help a student unlock the power of their own voice through writing. I'm excited to help students reach their academic goals in whatever way I can.
